The Los Angeles Lakers superstar recreated a meme spawned by his series of photos reading only the first page of every book.
On September 17, James shared a video of him on his Instagram story sitting by the pool while reading a book and enjoying a cocktail drink and a bottle of Hennessy cognac.
As the camera zoomed in, the video revealed James was reading no ordinary book but an imaginary one entitled the “First Page,” referencing the meme. Then James had a mischievous look to end the video.
James broke the internet with his sense of self-awareness and humor.
A Lakers fan from the Philippines said: “LMAAAO LEBROOON (crying, laughing emojis).”
Another Lakers fan tweeted with the photo: “LeBron finally embraced the joke about him always being on the first page of a book (crying emojis).”
“[I] Always knew he was aware of the memes lmao,” another fan commented.
One more fan replied: “Lmaaaoooo ahhhhh this is funny.”
Another fan chimed in: “He’s a kid in a man’s body.”
But there were also some fans who were not amused.
“Weird that the guy who can’t read started a school where none of the students can pass any standardized tests,” one fan shared, referencing to the news last year about the eight-graders in his “I Promise School” in Akron, Ohio flunking the math test in the state for three straight years.
Another commenter ridiculed him: “Book title matches how far he got!”
James has his fair share of critics but he’s also enjoying trolling them.
