Lewis Hamilton Reacts as American Skateboarder Nyjah Huston Sends Heartfelt Message After Paris Olympics Medal Run

If one word could describe Nyjah Huston‘s Paris Olympics campaign, it’d be redemption. From a disappointing Tokyo Olympics 2020 to a Bronze medal in the City of Light, the American Skateboarder’s journey is worth remembering. We all love a story where the ‘hero’ bounces back from his failures to conquer the improbable. Lewis Hamilton is no different, which is probably why the 7x F1 world champ could relate to Nyjah, as he has shown his support for the Olympian.

Lewis knows what a setback feels like. He also knows the thrill of comebacks. Recently, he savored his sweet victory at Silverstone after two and a half years of dry spell. Hamilton, the biggest cheerleader of mental health, understands how taxing major defeats can be on athletes. So, whenever he gets a chance, he supports those who speak out their feelings.

Huston shared an Instagram post, expressing his honest emotions about his Bronze medal. In his heartfelt message, he wrote how difficult it was for him to finish third, as he aimed for the Gold. While an Olympic Bronze is a massive achievement in itself, Huston’s competitive spirit and passion drive him to never settle for less.

“It’s not just the competitive side of me that makes me get down and bummed on myself, even more so it’s the passion. I have so much passion for what I do that I just don’t know how to not feel like this in these moments,” Huston wrote. The 29-year-old is grateful for what he’s done for his country and adds, “Life is a battle. We are not perfect. But we push through. Always and forever.” This message deeply touched Lewis Hamilton as he hit the Like button.

Lewis Hamilton can relate to Huston’s emotions. He too would’ve never settled for P3. We all know how much of a toll the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP took on the Mercedes Ace. But despite all odds, he continued. Nyjah Huston is also the same. His setbacks from Tokyo didn’t stop him from chasing his dreams and look where he’s now!

Nyjah Huston bags the Bronze Medal as his teammate Jagger Eaton finishes second
The Paris Olympics 2024 has now completed its first week. With endless drama and thrill, the grand celebration of sports continues. Men’s Street Skateboard is one such exciting event that largely attracts the audience. It’s interesting to see how athletes scoot around on a flat board with wheels.

The sport looks extremely risky, however, professionals make it a piece of cake. The American duo of Jagger Eaton and Nyjah Huston finished second and third in the event, which was held at La Concorde Urban Park. Eaton, with his characteristic humor, and Huston, reflecting on his Olympic journey, expressed their pride and camaraderie.

Huston, a 15-time X Games winner, acknowledged the progress of the sport and praised the reigning gold medalist, Japan’s Yuto Horigome, calling him “a savage” and noting the fierce competition. In the final round, Huston impressed the crowd with his signature daring tricks, while Jagger Eaton showed his high-flying moves. Despite fierce competition, the skaters agreed it was one of the best street skateboarding events ever.

Ultimately, Nyjah Huston enjoyed this event, despite the eventual disappointment of not being able to clinch the Gold medal. He knows his countrymen are extremely proud of him and revere him for his sportsmanship and his passion. Meanwhile, the special boost from a multi-time winner like Lewis Hamilton could also provide extra encouragement to the now world’s third-best skateboarder.
